Job description

Dermatology Medical Partners (DMP) is a Dermatology Support Organization that partners with and invests in leading dermatology practices.

DMP assists dermatology practices with the non-clinical challenges they face by providing industry proven non-clinical business support services. As part of our commitment, we help our affiliated dermatologists to collectively achieve attractive economies of scale resulting in improved efficiency and profitability while lowering operational risks. This position is based in Tampa with the flexibility to have a hybrid schedule after three months of training. If the best candidate is not located in the local area,  this position will be remote. 

Detailed Activities:

  • Submit reimbursement claims to payers
  • Process insurance claims
  • Enter charges accurately to ensure proper records handling and fast payment responses
  • Process and follow up on payer denials, exceptions and exclusions
  • Post payments
  • Utilize monthly aging accounts receivable reports to follow up on unpaid claims
  • Research and resolve client billing problems or issues
  • Perform additional duties as requested by Supervisory or Management team.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare patient collections.
  • Practice management software preferably EMA, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Experience in CPT and ICD-10 coding; familiarity with medical terminology, preferably Dermatology.
  • Experience in filing claim appeals with insurance companies to ensure maximum entitled reimbursement.
  • Responsible use of confidential information.
  • Perform to company standards of compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task and work courteously and respectfully with fellow employees, clients and patients.
  • Strong knowledge in claims appeal and reconsideration process
  •  Knowledgeable in account collections
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  •  Associates degree or higher, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Medical Billing and Coding certification or CPC preferred
