Job Title: Medical Billing & Authorization Assistant
Job Location: 113 W. Drinker St. Dunmore, PA
Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
Summary:Traditional Home Health Care is seeking a skilled Medical Billing & Authorization Assistant to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for accurately processing medical claims, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities:

• Reading and analyzing patient records
• Determining the correct codes for patient records
• Using codes to bill insurance providers
• Checking insurances for copays, limitations on visits and authorization requirements
• Verifying multiple types of insurances
• Submitting authorizations for services
• Interacting with doctors, medical groups and assistants to ensure accuracy
• Keeping track of patient data over multiple visits
• Managing detailed, specifically-coded information
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and information security
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Home Care/Home Health experience preferred but we will train the right person
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and primary/secondary insurances
• Knowledge of medical terminology, provider contracts, fee schedules, payment methodologies and other relevant software applications and reporting requirements is required
• Skilled in data analysis and problem solving using defined methodologies
• Skilled in problem resolution; recommends suggestions to increase accuracy and/or efficiency
• Some knowledge, but not required in Google / Bing Business products
• Ability to work independently across multiple projects with minimal supervision
• Ability to use discretion concerning sensitive information and adhere to HIPAA
• Ability to communicate professionally, clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing
• Ability to prioritize effectively and consistently multitask
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
