Salary```Duties:```
- Review and analyze medical records and documentation to ensure accurate coding and billing
- Assign appropriate codes using ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG systems
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims for reimbursement
- Communicate with healthcare providers to obtain missing or additional information for billing purposes
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Update and maintain patient records in the Medical Billing system
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Provide support to patients regarding billing inquiries and payment options
```Requirements:```
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical coding or billing preferred
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures
- Proficient in using Medical Billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and documentation
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with insurance guidelines and claim submission processes
Familiarity with Athenahealth software a plus, but not a necessity
