We have partnered with Northern Arizona Pulmonary Associates, a full-service on-site pulmonary practice, to expand their access through remote care.

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate MA to join the dynamic healthcare team in a full-time capacity at the Northern Arizona Pulmonary Associates clinic site in Flagstaff, AZ. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional patient experiences by assisting patients with inquiries, coordinating care, and contributing to the smooth operation of the practice.

What you will be doing:

• Supporting pulmonary practitioners during clinic appointments through patient intake, medication reconciliation, and warm hand-offs with physicians
• Coordinating care with other providers across various healthcare settings, including the Numo telehealth clinic, monitoring patient progress, ensuring smooth transitions, and facilitating exchange of information
• Answering incoming calls from patients in a professional and friendly manner, and performing phone outreach as needed
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in the EHR
• Attending staff meetings in-person and virtually
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and suggesting innovative solutions to enhance patient experiences and operational efficiency
• Collaborating with the team to implement new processes and refine existing ones
• Other clinical tasks as assigned by other healthcare team members

Must-haves:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) Certification, or equivalent
• Minimum one year of clinical experience as an MA
• Fluent in English
• Proficiency using EMRs
• Demonstrated capability to adapt quickly to new healthcare technologies (G-suite, slack, iOs/Android apps)
• Strong communication skills and ability to relate with patients and colleagues from diverse socio-demographic populations in a professional, empathetic manner.
• Strong sense of professionalism and ownership, recognizing that you play an important role in the success of your team
• Strong problem solving skills
• Skilled in prioritizing, organizing, and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to properly triage and prioritize incoming patient communications
• Desire to serve patients and practice partners with seamless, exceptional service
• Legally authorized to work in the US

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience working in a pulmonary outpatient clinic, or with patients with COPD and asthma
• Experience with eMD and Athena EMR
• Experience with outpatient telehealth environments
