Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Service Rep at our Worthington Internal Medicine office in Worthington, OH. As a Medical Assistant/Patient Service Rep for COPC you are joining a team that strives to be the best for Primary Care. This position is responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient delivery of primary health care and creating a positive patient experience. This role will be full-time working M-Th 7:15am-4:00pm and Friday 7:15am-12:00pm
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work closely with the clinical care team to deliver the best care for our patients.
• Set-up EKG machines, administer injections, and perform routine specimen collection and tests.
• Interview patients regarding medical concerns and obtain medical history.
• Measure vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height. Record vital signs and other health-related issues on patients’ charts.
• Assist in performing routine medical procedures as requested.
• Prepare patients and treatment rooms for exams. Drape patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
• Assist in patient education with related educational tools, periodicals, flyers, and handouts.
• Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
• Greet patients and complete established check-in procedures upon arrival. Responsible for registration, including data entry of patient information and insurance verification.
• Collect copays, deductibles and/or outstanding balances.
• Responsible for checking patients out and scheduling follow up appointments and communicating necessary items at time of check out.
• Answer phone calls and email inquiries from patients and COPC administrative departments in a timely manner; direct or escalate inquiries when needed. Contact patients for appointment reminders or scheduling purposes.

Education, Licensures & Certifications
Required: High school diploma or GED
Preferred: State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Phlebotomist or equivalent clinical background/training. Previous experience as a Patient Service Representative also considered.
