We are looking to hire a Medical Assistant who will serve as a liaison between the patient, nurse practitioner, surgeon, and facility staff. The position requires a good understanding of surgeries offered within our center and post-operative discharge instructions. Requires considerable attention to detail. The ability to communicate with patients, surgeons, co-workers, and managers is critical. Must be willing to help in all areas.
In this role, the candidate will require but is not limited to:
- Brings patients into the examination room in preparation for their follow-up visit
- Takes and records patient vital signs, obtains blood samples
- Cleaning of exam rooms; room turnover
- Obtains patient information pertinent to their post-op visit
- Works hand in hand with Doctors, Massage Therapists and Physician Assistants to ensure workflow is efficient
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Communicates to the patients in a manner that instills understanding and confidence about their post-procedure healing instructions.
- Records appropriate patient information on patient charts and/or Salesforce
- Report any problems or unusual circumstances to the clinical manager or doctor.
- Understands and communicates well with patients about different surgeries and the healing process
- Understands and follows procedures for post-surgical and procedural processes.
- Displays consistent professionalism.
- Is energetic and empathetic with patients.
- Performs clerical and administrative functions such as customer service and record keeping.
- Provide excellent Customer Service, ensuring that clients unique needs are met.
Requirements
- 1 Year of Customer Service Experience
- GED or High School Diploma
- Medical Terminology preferred
- Spanish Speaking preferred
- Plastic Surgery Knowledge preferred
- HIPAA & Osha Compliance Certification preferred
- Phlebotomy experience required
- Medical Assistant Certification required
- BLS Certification required
