We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Medical Assistant/ Transcriptionist - NYU Huntington Medical Group.
Cross trained in all specialties and department within 4 nearby Locations : Hauppauge, Commack 2 Huntington locations. 8.5 hour shift, 40 hour work week. Site opens at 7AM closes by 8:30 PM. Work week is Monday – Friday with Saturday hours available for overtime from 8AM-2PM. Flexibility Require for this role. New graduates welcomed! Specialties include :

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for completing clinical and administrative duties that assist in the delivery of effective patient care within assigned practice. Under the general direction of the physician (for documenting) and Office Manager, responsible for a variety of patient care duties and other related duties in the clinic setting that include patient flow, physician assisting, documenting/recording, telephone calls, and other clerical duties.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains and organizes medical supplies for the department.
- Obtains vital signs, weights, and EKGs when needed, and all other tests within the scope of the practice. Assist with blood collection/phlebotomy as needed.
- Assists with maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas. Assists in escorting patients and specimens throughout the facility.
- Ensures chart is available, with relevant lab work and test reports if indicated, for the physician when the physician sees the patient.
- Stocks exam room/treatment rooms with medical supplies, linen, and designated chart forms. Notifies the Office Manager when supplies are low.
- Ensures exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned after each patient leaves and prepared for the next patient.
- Assures completion of patient charge slips/encounter forms as per policy.
- Assists patient with obtaining food, toileting, ambulating and maintaining comfort.
- Assists physicians with procedures (e.g. GI procedures, all medical exams).
- Cleans and sterilizes designated equipment after use.
- Accompanies physician into exam room and transcribes history, including history of present illness, past medical and surgical history, family and social histories, medications and allergies, physical exam, laboratory and radiologic orders as dictated by the physician and document accurately the physician's encounter with the patient.
- Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
- Documents patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
- Documents any procedures performed by the physician.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Consistently communicates all issues, concerns, new ideas with appropriate supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or GED. Upon hire or entry into the position, must hold a current Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous scribe preferred. Bilingual Spanish

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $52,260.00 - $52,260.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
