Job Type: Full-time (32 hours week: Monday – Thursday, 7 hours; Friday, 4 hours)

This person will work at the Muskegon Teen Health Center but occasionally work at the Oakridge Teen Health Center when needed.
Under the direct supervision of the School Program Manager, in collaboration with the Medical Provider, the School Program Medical Assistant functions as a member of a multidisciplinary team to support the work of the medical provider. This position is located at Muskegon Teen Health Center but may transition to other locations as needed during school breaks or closings.

Duties include, but not limited to:
- Coordinating care by gathering information.
- Back up Immunization Coordinator
- Lab procedures (AIC, Blood draws, STI Testing, Cardiac Lipids, Finger Stick, Glucose, Hemoccult, Hemoglobin, INR, Lead, Obtaining Throat Culture, Obtaining Urine for Drug Screen, Rapid Strep Screen, Urine Dip, Urine Pregnancy Test, Venipunctures)
- Point of Care testing.
- Community Outreach activities (i.e., vaccine clinics).
- Assisting in patient preparation.
- Maintenance of work area and equipment.
- Ordering supplies.
- Some case management functions.
Qualifications include:
- Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current active certification or registration (CMA/RMA) in the State of Michigan.
- CPR/BLS certified.
- Must possess professional and accurate written and oral communication skills.
- Be accurate in work.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Proficient in computer and EHR software programs.
- Maintain confidentiality and understand the guidelines related to minor's rights and consents.
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of age specific related criteria.
- Possess a working knowledge of insurance types, lab functions, immunization and community resources.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment or independently.
- Ability to work with children of all ages.
