Job Title: Full-Time Medical Assistant - Cosmetic Surgery Practice
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our busy cosmetic surgery practice. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in a medical setting, particularly in cosmetic surgery or a related field.
Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care:
- Greet and escort patients to examination rooms, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns.
- Assist the physician in patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and operating room, ensuring cleanliness and availability of necessary supplies and equipment.
- Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions.
- Provide compassionate and professional support to patients during their visits.
2. Administrative Support:
- Schedule patient appointments, surgeries, and consultations, while optimizing the physician's time.
- Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, restocking as needed.
- Collaborate with the front desk staff to ensure a seamless patient flow and efficient practice operations.
3. Medical Procedures:
- Prepare and sterilize instruments for procedures, ensuring a sterile and safe environment.
- Assist the physician with minor cosmetic procedures, including wound care, suture removal, and dressing changes.
- Conduct pre-operative assessments, which may involve measuring vital signs, documenting medical history, and obtaining consent forms.
- Assist in the application of dressings and other post-operative care procedures.
- Maintain a high level of infection control standards throughout the practice.
4. Patient Education:
- Provide accurate and detailed information to patients regarding cosmetic procedures, treatment options, and associated risks and benefits.
- Address patient questions and concerns regarding treatments, ensuring clear communication and patient satisfaction.
- Offer post-operative care instructions and follow-up with patients to monitor recovery progress.
- Promote a positive and caring environment, fostering trust and confidence among patients.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a cosmetic surgery or dermatology practice.
- Knowledge of cosmetic surgery procedures, terminology, and patient care protocols.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, electronic health records (EHR), and basic computer skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in administrative tasks.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Basic CPR and first aid certification is a plus.
