Position Purpose:
We are looking for Medical Assistants who can assist the health care and administrative team of the medical office, provide optimum health care to patients and prepare them appropriately for the examination with the provider.
About this position:
- Work Location: Southeast Raleigh, Women's Health OB/GYN
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00an – 5:00pm with flexibility (No Remote Option at thistime)
- Required Travel: None
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for patient preparation for provider encounter:
- Perform basic prep according to Advance Community Health guidelines.
- Assist RN or provider with patient triage, to include telephone triage.
- Complete information gathering segment of triage with specified patient population.
- Refer all problems and urgent needs to RN or provider and conduct patient follow-up post encounter.
- Make follow-up calls to patients as directed by the provider.
- Manage provider messages and test result reports in accordance with established site procedure.
- Manage prescription and refill medication request paperwork under the direction of the provider and Schedule appointments.
- Provide patient care in accordance with training and Advance Community
Health policies and procedures:
- Demonstrate competency for adult and pediatric patients that are appropriate for MA following organizational guidelines.
Patient Education:
- Inform patients and families about clinic rules and processes as appropriate.
- Review treatment related preparation instructions and follow-up educational material with patients and families as directed by provider or RN.
- Provide adult and pediatric patients and families with general educational materials in collaboration with the RN and providers.
Other Duties and Tasks:
- Assist in administrative duties as assigned.
- Participate in QA activities as appropriate and comply with infection control and regulatory indicators.
- Maintain appropriate monitoring logs.
- Serve as patient advocate for HIPAA and quality patient care.
- Participate in organizational projects, committees and site activities.
Demonstrate fiscal responsibility
- Maintain stock levels in the exam rooms.
- Assist with ordering, proper storage and efficient use of medical supplies.
- Work with other clinic staff to establish and maintain a safe and efficient work environment for patients and employees.
- Assist in the resolution of patient problems and complaints.
- Collaborate in identification and solution of barriers to optimal patient flow and quality patient care.
- Professional Development or participate in continuing education and relevant educational opportunities to maintain and advance skills.
- Demonstrate initiative and responsibility in prioritizing and performing multiple tasks.
- Serve as a professional role model to colleagues and patients.
Qualifications:
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Certification
- Minimum of 1-2 years related experience as a Medical Assistant is required and/or 1 year in a medical setting.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience with EMR (electronic medical records) and terminology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
