- Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of physician & supervisor. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, completing FMLA and short term disability paperwork, patient letters, and ordering supplies. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician, process prescription refill requests, order entry, staple and suture removal, phone triage, provide patient education, and stock supplies.
- Education
- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Required effective 12/20/20: Graduated from a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship.

- Required: None
- Preferred: Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people
- Preferred: Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting
- Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Carry out delegated tasks under supervision of a provider.
- Proficient Computer skills
- Microsoft Office, multi-line phone, and other office equipment experience preferred
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to type at least 40 wpm preferred
- Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Required: Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
- Required:Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP.
