Completes procedure scheduling process for the provider in a timely manner.
Serves as the liaison between patient and LSDC or LRMC. Submits requests for authorizations.
Provides patient and family with pre-procedure instructions as directed by physician.
Identifies and evaluates patient needs by way of telephone triage.
Verifies requested consults and second opinions and obtains authorizations.
Administers medication including injections; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physician as required by specialty.
Adheres to nursing policy and procedure when documenting information in patient's medical record.
Assumes responsibility for maintaining current certification in CPR.
Assist in patient flow on busy office days. This includes preparing charts, "rooming" and discharging patients.
Required Education and Experience: Completion of a Medical Assistant program. Medical Assistant Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistant (AAMA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) is required. Prefer 1 year experience in an outpatient healthcare facility, but will accept new graduates
