Job Description
Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in providing clinical care to select patients under the supervision of the professional nurse or licensed medical practitioner and provides clerical office assistance.
Qualifications:
- Proven working experience as a Medical Assistant or medical secretary.
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and priorities work.
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software.
Responsibilities:
- Complete detailed PT evaluations, refills on medications and Disability paperwork
- Assist MD in the room for translating
- Send request for authorization to the correct departments
- Create requisitions – for diagnostics
- explain spine and orthopedic surgical procedures
- Remove sutures/staples
- Wound dressing changes
- Dispense and fit DME
- Draw injections under sterile technique
- Clean and Stock patient rooms
- Manage phone calls and messages on a daily basis
- Travel to satellite offices
- Answering phone and emails
- If patient is ready to book injection day of the visit. MA is booking ESR or MBB
