Medical Assistant ( Experience Preferred)

Responsibilities (not all- inclusive) include:

• A willingness to learn every aspect of the practice clinical procedures.
• Arranging tests (CT, MRI, Echo, etc), insurance pre-certifications.
• Administer injections (mostly IM), perform EKG’s, ear irrigation, flu tests, Covid swap, strep tests, uncomplicated dressing changes, etc.
• Refill medications, execute follow-up calls, triage clinical calls, transcribe nursing voicemails and answer patient questions
• Process medication insurance prior authorizations.
• Telephone health screenings for patients.
• Room patients for provider visits: Record patient data/history, chief complaint, verify pharmacy information, accurately verify medication and allergy lists, check vital signs, discuss screening recommendations (colonoscopy, mammogram, eye exams, etc).
• Assist with medical supply orders and maintain fully stocked exam rooms.
• Other administrative and clinical responsibilities and projects.

Required Knowledge & Skills

• A minimum of 2 years experience (preferred)
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, physicians, patients, families and the public.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, physicians, patients, families and the public.
• Strong clinical skills desired, along with triaging experience.

Qualified candidates need the following: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Certificate of completion for Medical Assistant Program required.Computer skills are required.

Confirmation of hep B series

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
