Responsibilities (not all- inclusive) include:
- A willingness to learn every aspect of the practice clinical procedures.
- Arranging tests (CT, MRI, Echo, etc), insurance pre-certifications.
- Administer injections (mostly IM), perform EKG’s, ear irrigation, flu tests, Covid swap, strep tests, uncomplicated dressing changes, etc.
- Refill medications, execute follow-up calls, triage clinical calls, transcribe nursing voicemails and answer patient questions
- Process medication insurance prior authorizations.
- Telephone health screenings for patients.
- Room patients for provider visits: Record patient data/history, chief complaint, verify pharmacy information, accurately verify medication and allergy lists, check vital signs, discuss screening recommendations (colonoscopy, mammogram, eye exams, etc).
- Assist with medical supply orders and maintain fully stocked exam rooms.
- Other administrative and clinical responsibilities and projects.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- A minimum of 2 years experience (preferred)
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, physicians, patients, families and the public.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, physicians, patients, families and the public.
- Strong clinical skills desired, along with triaging experience.
Qualified candidates need the following: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Certificate of completion for Medical Assistant Program required.Computer skills are required.
Confirmation of hep B series
