The MA Apprentice works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner or Certified MA to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met though both administrative and clinical duties. An MA Apprentice is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Enrollment in the Medical Assistant (MA) Apprenticeship Program within 60 days of hire.
  • *When 50% of required competencies are completed (as indicated with check off by CMA mentor) MA Apprentice will receive 1st increase in pay.
  • *When MA Apprenticeship Program is successfully completed MA Apprentice will receive 2nd increase in pay.
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six months: Medical assistant experience.
  • Six months: Healthcare experience in a setting with an Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Six months: Prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment.

About the Team

Providence Physician Enterprise (PE) is a service line within Providence serving patients across seven states with quality, compassionate, coordinated care.
