Essential Job Functions:
- Assists in the delivery of health care and patient care management.
- Provides patient education per provider protocol.
- Maintain patient information in an electronic health records system.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, and co-workers.
- Maintain clinical quality assurance standards.
- Ensures clerical responsibilities and patient information is completed in a timely manner as assigned.
- Adheres to the Medical Assistant scope of practice per federal/state laws.
- Compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and safety standards of the organization.
- Ensure certifications are current and up to date.
- Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the practice.
Requirements
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical certification required and one year experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification preferred.
Schedules will change as department needs change, including overtime and weekends. Travel as needed.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of electronic health records and practice management systems.
- Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA guidelines
- Knowledge of medical practice care and terminology.
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.

- Medical office and exam/procedure room settings.
- Standing and walking 90 % of the time.
- Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
