SalaryWe are looking for a Medical Assistant for a busy Dermatology Office. Incumbent will provide excellent patient care by being assigned, and assisting a busy dermatologist and one part-time Physician Assistant. (Schedule is Monday to Thursday, 38 hours per week).
**Please note: We are currently in the Clairemont area, however in August we will be re-locating to 4S Ranch area of San Diego**
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assists the providers in patient care and dermatologic surgery (Mohs).
- Assist with cosmetic procedures (Botox, filler, lasers, etc.)
- Rooms patients, prepares note in EHR system.
- Completes preoperative preparations for scheduled surgeries.
- Follows proper sterilization processes.
- Provides for the psychological needs of the patients, acting as the patient advocate. Monitors the physiologic status, such as Pulse-Ox and blood pressure, of the patient during procedures.
- Monitors, assists and accompanies patient to the recovery area.
- Communicates test results with patients upon doctor's request.
- Calls in prescriptions for patients as directed by a physician.
- Completes and submits prior authorizations.
- Ensures all rooms are stocked with medical supplies, brochures and handouts.
- Practices discretion and patient confidentiality at all times.
- Cleans work space, exam rooms and operating rooms.
- Checks daily schedules and preps for next day's clinic.
- EHR/EMA EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
- Assists in ordering when needed or as a backup.
1-year Medical Assistant experience required. Externs need not apply as we are not accepting applicants without experience.
