Medical Assistant

Job Overview:

Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent patient service by greeting and assisting patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Perform medical administrative support tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and verifying insurance information
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Perform basic coding and billing tasks to ensure accurate documentation and billing
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Prepare patients for X-rays and assist with other diagnostic procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and equipment
- Follow proper protocols for infection control and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff

Experience:
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred
- Proficiency in medical terminology is highly desirable
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is beneficial
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus

Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate patient records
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in taking vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of medical coding principles for proper documentation and billing purposes

Pay: $14.00 - $21.04 per hour
