Experienced Medical Assistant
Growing Urgent Care seeking friendly, cheerful, and dedicated Medical Assistants/ X-ray Tech to join our team!
We have full time openings at our Arlington and Mansfield locations!
You MUST have the ability to float to other locations when necessary
Schedule (Subject to change):
- 3 days Monday- Friday, from 8:30am- 8pm
- Rotating weekends, from 8:30am- 5 pm
Medical Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to):
- Greeting patients in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Answering telephones.
- Scheduling patient appointments.
- Register patients, obtaining and updating patient demographic and insurance information.
- Scan patients documents and paperwork into the computer (New patient Info packet, ID, Insurance cards, etc)
- Verify patients’ insurance eligibility for each visit.
- Obtains co-pays and self-responsibility portion of charges / balances, recording collection per established guidelines.
- Explains all fees and patient financial responsibility.
- Secure all necessary patient signatures; obtains proper informed consent and insurance authorization.
- Balances cash, checks and charge payments daily according to established guidelines.
- Ensure patient satisfaction.
- Handling correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping.
Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to):
- Room patients, obtain vitals, patient history and reason for seeking care.
- Preparing patients for examination.
- Assisting the provider during exams and procedures.
- Explaining treatment procedures to patients.
- Follow prescription refill procedures.
- Maintain patient records confidentially.
- Arranging for specialist and/or ER referrals.
- Record patient charges and lab charges for billing department.
- Assist the provider with patient education pertaining to their ongoing health care:
Results of lab and x-ray reports.
Diet and exercise.
Obtain specimens and perform laboratory tests.
X-rays
Drawing blood.
Taking electrocardiograms.
Removing sutures and changing dressings.
Apply splints.
Education, Experience, and other Requirements:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- 1+ years in a medical office
- Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), medical terminology
- Previous experience in Urgent Care (Preferred)
- NCT certified (Preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
