What you will do?
As theMedical Assistant you will be supporting the nursing/health services team with a variety of regular tasks. The primary focus of this position will be that of managing medical health screenings and coordinating medical appointments. Specific duties include:
- Building a relationship of trust with the residents and their families.
- Screening and assessing the medical needs of residents
- Coordinating psychiatric and psychological scheduling.
- Creating and maintaining professional relationships with local care providers.
- Maintaining established health conscious procedures and uses best practice.
- Assisting the nursing staff with projects including medical triage and directing interventions in medical situations by referring clients to the appropriate provider.
- Maintaining the client's medical file information and assures it's proper management according to Health Service guidelines.
- Identifying injuries which are inconsistent with the client history and notifies the appropriate supervisor.
Qualifications & Program Information
What you need:
You will need to be at least 21 years of age and possess a Medical Assistant Certification to qualify. Prior experience in working with children is preferred. Additional qualifications include:
- Strong organizational and communication abilities
- Basic to intermediate computer skills in a MS Office setting
- Valid driver's license in good standing
