Richmond Vein Center has an opening for a full-time Medical Assistant to work at our newly renovated West End Office, as well as our Midlothian Office off I-288 near St. Francis Medical Center. POSITION OVERVIEW:
Performs the following in an accurate and timely manner; schedules patients, manages patient flow, assists with patient care; supports physician assistants' and physicians’ needs; possesses current CPR certification. Demonstrates customer service skills, a professional manner and a commitment to an efficient, focused team atmosphere. Spanish-speaking language skills a real plus!
SUPERVISION:
Reports directly to Office Manager.
JOB DUTIES:
- Answers phone
- Schedules patients for office visits and procedures
· Prepares patients for office visits by assisting in the exam room and updating medical history in the EHR to include: medication allergies; current medications; vital signs; immunization history and patient education
· Assists practitioners when seeing patients
· Assists with vein procedures
- Schedules return office visits
· Addresses patient messages received, return calls and provide chart note related to call
· Perform follow up calls to patients who have office procedures
· Cleans and sterilizes instruments, maintenance of autoclave
· Keeps procedure medications current and stocked, to include sclerotherapy
· Manages all aspects of Biohazard needs according to OSHA standards
· Maintains all appropriate OSHA logs- Biological Indicator Monitoring Log Book and Maintenance Log Book which addresses, daily, weekly and monthly cleaning
· Checks AED battery and EPI-Pen expiration weekly
· Orders all medical and surgical supplies as needed
· Travels between offices as assigned
· Assist with incoming calls when available
· Function as an effective team member
· Attends staff meetings
· Adheres to all policies and procedures and applicable regulations in performing these duties
· Consistently demonstrates a commitment to customer service
· Perform any duties as assigned

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
