As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to assist with clinical and administrative tasks. Your responsibilities will include preparing patients for examinations, taking vital signs, administering medications, and maintaining medical records. The ideal candidate for this role is compassionate, detail-oriented, and possesses strong clinical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and record patients' medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean, stocked, and organized.
• Perform basic clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications, injections, and immunizations under the direction of a physician or nurse.
• Assist with minor surgical procedures and wound care.
• Conduct basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
• Provide patient education on medications, procedures, and self-care techniques.
• Schedule patient appointments and follow up on referrals and laboratory results.
• Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure accuracy and confidentiality of patient information.
• Handle administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, filing paperwork, and processing insurance forms.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assisting program from an accredited institution is preferred.
• Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) is desirable.
• Previous experience working in a clinical setting or healthcare environment is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Proficient in taking accurate vital signs and performing clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.
• Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Willingness to adapt to changing healthcare protocols and procedures.
• CPR certification may be required depending on the setting.
