$5,000 HIRING BONUS (Prorated by FTE)

Overview
The Medical Assistant supports the nurse practitioner in our Patient Centered Primary Care Home in our adult outpatient center. The candidate must be comfortable working in a health care clinic that serves a diverse population.
Responsibilities
Assists Provider with patient care, takes vital signs and organizes the daily flow of patients, which includes updating the electronic medical record, triaging phone calls, and tracking labs and referrals. Assists with PCP referrals, incoming and outgoing. Provides clerical and organizational support.
Qualifications
The candidate must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to read and understand a medical record; in turn, they must be able to convey this information to patients, pharmacies, and medical providers.
High school diploma or equivalent and a general understanding of the population served.
Medical office experience or Medical Assistant (MA) experience is a plus but not required.
Candidates must be able to use e-mail, compose documents, save and locate documents electronically, and learn to use our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Proficiency in Word and other MS Office applications preferred.
Must pass state-required background and DMV checks. Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.
