Summary:
Under the Supervision of the Regional Medical Director and in close collaboration with the Head of Medical Engagement, the Medical Advisor oversees the entire function of Medical Affairs for brands like Avene including the direction, planning, and execution of the Medical Affairs strategy developed by the brands at the Corporate level and according to the subsidiary specific requirements.
Responsibilities:
Develop an annual operating plan for Medical affairs activities, including building and fostering relationships with US Key Opinion Leaders, facilitating scientific communication in medical events or through different channels, overseeing clinical studies, publications, and establishing partnerships with patient advocacy groups partnerships. Ensure alignment of these initiatives with new developments and launches of dermo-cosmetic products planned in the US, strategically supporting life-cycle management. Identify in advance the academic contacts and select the type of events (local, regional, national) to implement these activities.
  • Participate in the development of the medical strategy
  • Build and manage the budgets in line with the needs and medical activities planned in the US
  • Exchange scientific information with medical professionals and organization via scientific Advisory Board (or Round Table), Symposia, Investigators training, and targeted communication
  • Develop, foster and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, particularly in the therapeutic fields targeted by our products, establishing robust networks of national and regional KOLs to foster strategic partnerships.
  • Ensure the proper conduct of post-launch clinical development programs for the Dermo-Cosmetic brands, with respect to the local regulation
  • Ensure medical input in cross-functional activities (Medical Representatives, training, marketing..)
  • Serve as the scientific support for internal teams by contributing to the development and implementation of a medical plan and when applicable, reviewing promotional activities
  • Prepare and conduct medical trainings for Pierre Fabre employees
  • Develop and implement Patient-Centric activities in collaboration with representatives of patient organizations
  • Participate in oral, written, digital medical/medical marketing/scientific communication, during scientific conferences/events
  • Ensure adherence to compliance and ethical standards governing all medical activities in the US
  • Efficiently coordinate and manage the publication process, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of pertinent information
  • Other duties as required by the business

Requirements and Education:
  • Advanced Scientific Degree (MD, PharmD, PhD)
  • 3 years of experience in the field of Medical Affairs (Dermatology and Dermo-cosmetics is preferred)
  • Experience in scientific communication preferably in medical detailing setting
  • Knowledge of clinical medicine, the disease treatment process as well as medical research in at least one therapeutic area. Dermatology will be preferred
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and clinical studies
  • Ability to prepare and deliver high-quality presentations and to conduct medical meetings
  • Experience on a position with similar scope of responsibility will be an asset
