Medical Accounts Receivable/Billing/Insurance Specialist

Dermatology Consultants, P.C. is seeking an experienced Billing/Insurance Specialist with knowledge of Medical Accounts receivable, billing and commercial insurance to join our team in our Atlanta/Buckhead location. We are searching for a candidate with a friendly demeanor, great attitude, and patient-focused work ethic. The Billing/Insurance Specialist must have the ability to multitask, work well with others as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Ensure timely billing and resolution of patient accounts. Handle inbound patient calls in a professional and courteous manner. Analyzes and rectifies patient concerns using established procedures. Handle follow up from commercial payors in a timely manner. Follows established procedures for posting payments (patient, insurance etc). Assists with general practice information and directions to departments within the organization.

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Background check.
• Must be authorized to work in USA
• At least 1 year of related experience (healthcare a plus) .
• Previous employment record that reflects work stability, as indicated by an average work tenure for previous jobs of at least one year.
• Excellent attendance, positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Required Minimum Skills:

• Knowledge of EMR/EHR and Clearinghouses (Nextech a plus)
• Experience working with insurance follow up and claim denials.
• ICD10 and CPT coding.
• Experience with patient billing and collection process.
• Typing or data entry competency of at least 40 words/minute.
• Demonstrated professionalism, effective communication skills and active listening skills
• 1 year experience in medical billing and coding (Dermatology a plus).
• Helping and supporting your peers.
• Be thoughtful, polite, and diplomatic in interactions with others.
