Media Studio Producer

The Lee Enterprises Media Studio based in Madison, WI seeks a full-time video/audio producer to join our team. We're a small group that thinks big, working to transform the local news business to digital platforms for an audience of loyal, local subscribers. The Lee Media Studio producer is responsible for creating/editing audio and video packages for multiple platforms: websites, mobile apps, podcast services and social media. Our work includes podcasts, video docuseries, spot video packages and more. We also serve as advisors to local producers across Lee's 70+ local newsrooms.

The producer also acts as talent, with roles ranging from podcast hosting to narrating and appearing on camera as needed, and sometimes interviewing guests or sources. The producer may occasionally go into the field to capture video and audio.

Key duties:

Edit video from multiple sources for VOD and streaming platform programs, observing journalism standards and principles.

Create graphics to be used within video content.

Host or narrate segments/episodes as needed.

Work cooperatively with reporters/photographers in any of our 70+ newsrooms.

Monitor video content sources, select and post engaging video segments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred.

Previous experience in newsroom or production studio required.

Experience with Adobe Premiere, Audition and Photoshop are required. After Effects is a plus.

Basic understanding of content management systems, social media platforms and digital analytics required.

Highly organized, efficient, motivated, deadline driven, and creative.

The position is based in Madison, WI, but can be a remote work position for a superior candidate. The expected annualized base salary range for this position is currently $40,000-$60,000. Actual salary may vary based on factors such as employee location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law. The listed salary range is just one component of Lee's total compensation and benefits package.
