Med Tech/Resident Assistant

AM/PM Shift Available, Also Full Time NOC shift Available.

The Medication Technician will be responsible for medication administration and will be a front-line employee offering personal care services to the residents of our Assisted Living facility. They will be responsible to the Administrator of Beth Haven, a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE). This will include working with the other Medical Technicians and Caregivers to ensure that resident needs pertaining to the activities of daily living are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Set up and administer medication. Must ensure there are no unattended medications anywhere in the facility.

· Document medication taken and not taken in an accurate and timely manner.

· Notify the Assisted Living Nurse of any medication ordering issues.

· Maintain Medication Technician certification.

· Follow facility’s policies and procedures for Medication Administration.

· Report on shift when expected / stay until shift ends

· Always use safety measures for resident and self when using body mechanics.

o Assist with safe transfer to and from bed, chair, sofa, commode, walker

· Follow basic hygiene and infection control practices; a list of which will be reviewed and distributed to all staff

· Contribute to a positive, healthy, and safe living and work environment

· Protect the confidentiality and security of all resident information

· Document daily care notes
