Overview
Works under the supervision of Nursing Supervisor/Manager and is ultimately responsible to the Director of Nursing. The CMT/CNA performs tasks essential to the direct care of the resident according to the facility policy and procedures and as allowed under the Scope of Practice as defined by the Department of Social Services for Assisted Living Facilities and the Department of Health for SNFs and NFs. Responsibilities include, but is not limited to, medication administration, vitals, personal care and nutrition support.
What you will do
- Administers the medications and treatments, according to the scheduled times, following the medication administration protocol
- Maintains confidentiality of resident and fellow employee's information
- Assists with monthly medication records as needed
- Maintains the cleanliness, organization, and restocking of the Med room and Med cart
- Capable of taking accurate vital signs and weights
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or other management staff
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED, (Required)
Experience
- Less than 1 year (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) - State Department of Health Professions Upon Hire(Required)
- First Aid - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required) and
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required) and
- VDH Medication Technician Certification (Required)
