Job Description:6th Floor Med Surg Registered Nurse

· Patient Population: General medical unit. Common Diagnoses: Congestive heart failure, diabetes, dialysis, GI disease, heart disease.

Shift/Hours:

• Day Shift: FT, 36 hrs/wk, 7:00am - 7:00pm
• Night Shift: FT, 36 hrs/wk, 7:00pm - 7:00am

Holiday/Weekend Requirement:Holidays: Yes. Weekends: Weekends start at 7:00pm on Friday night until Monday 7 am.

On Call Requirement: N/A.

Internal Pay Scale: Starting pay is $30.16/hr, increases with experience. Shift differential and up to a $15,000 Sign On Bonus.

Responsibilities:

• A Registered Nurse at Wayne UNC Health Care is a member of the patient care team who, with knowledge of the nursing process, provides leadership in applying scientific principles and professional skills aimed at caring for the ill, preventing disease and maintaining optimum health. The RN assists the provider in carrying out a therapeutic regimen for each patient and directs other licensed and non-licensed nursing teammates in providing nursing care to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of individual patients. The RN implements the nursing process in order to provide professional holistic patient care. Provides all nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

Must Haves:License: Current North Carolina RN License or Compact Licensure. Certification: BLS. Experience: Accepting New Grads. Education: Associate's Degree. Preferred: Bachelors Degree preferred.
