Chemours is seeking a Mechanical/Reliability Engineer Internto join our Engineering Technology team! This position will report directly to the Engineering Technology Manager.
As a Mechanical/Reliability Engineer Intern, you will work closely with the mobile equipment engineer and mobile asset team gaining valuable experience through hands-on reliability engineering projects impacting the rail and ISO fleets. You will have exposure to real-time engineering work alongside other engineers to apply what you've learned in the classroom.
Effective engineering interns will have the ability to communicate with impact, have strong self-awareness, and will be naturally inquisitive.
Location: Wilmington, DE or Remote
Hours: Regular full-time schedule of 40 hoursper week
Preferred First Term: May-August2023
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Analyzing equipment performance and recommending inspection intervals for rail and ISO fleets.
  • Establish reliability performance levels using reliability analysis software.
  • Compile and analyze documentation needed to update tank car Certificates of Construction
  • Participating in process safety management activities
  • Contributing to team meetings and conference calls

The following is requiredfor this role:
  • Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a rising Junior or above at time of assignment
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar fields
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized

The following ispreferred for this role:
  • Participation in relevant activities, organizations, and projects beyond the classroom
  • 3.0 GPA or above
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and work with large datasets
