About the Role:

As a Mechanical Reliability Engineer, you'll be the driving force behind the optimal performance of critical fixed equipment such as piping and vessels. Your mission: to not only support but elevate the reliability of these assets. You won't just be a spectator; you'll be hands-on in assessing and analyzing equipment failure data, diving into financial impact assessments, and strategizing for a stronger, more resilient future. 

 

Responsibilities:

  •  Improve and manage fixed assets maintenance strategy both from strategic and tactical needs.
  • Implement fixed equipment improvement solutions using design modification, upgraded accessories, instrumentation, etc.
  • Specify and review equipment repair plans or procedures for Design, Maintenance & Outage activities.
  • Support and lead incident investigations for Uncontrolled releases from Fixed Equipment.
  • Interpret and analyze equipment condition data to determine equipment fitness-for-service utilizing applicable engineering codes and engineering best practices.
  • Define and optimize predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Manage small capital projects
  • Support IFA & IFC reviews of new static equipment.
  • Interface with both internal and external customers
  • Explore and implement cost-effective new technologies relative to inspection and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
  • Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis and Reliability Maintenance studies to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Provide technical advice to asset owners.

 

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in fixed equipment design, failure modes, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiar in root cause analysis methodologies and application.
  • Knowledge of Fixed Equipment Regulatory Guidelines including but not limited to ASME Section VIII, B31.3, B16.5, API 510, 570, 581, 579, 650, 653, TEMA, NACE
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering  3+ years of experience in a Maintenance Engineering, Reliability, Mechanical Integrity, or Asset Manager role.
  • Chemical/Refinery maintenance experience preferred
  • Self-motivated, responsible and team oriented individual.
  • Strong communicator and able to talk across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to apply a systemic approach to problem solving.
  • Full understanding of plant and related safety standards and procedures.

 

 Physical Requirements:

  •  Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Climbing (stairs/ladders) and field visits are required.
  • Exposure to outdoors
  • Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes hardhat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other equipment as required.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
