Your Role in a Nutshell:
As a Mechanical Reliability Engineer, you'll provide technical support and guidance to maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to resolve mechanical and related equipment issues. Your responsibilities will include:
- Implementing small capital improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and safety.
- Collaborating with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to develop and implement improvements.
- Managing asset reliability risks through a focus on Loss Elimination, Risk Management, and Life Cycle Asset Management.
- Interacting heavily with local Maintenance and Project Engineering Teams to ensure effective uptime for plant equipment.
- Following site/corporate EHS policies and methodologies as a member of the site leadership team.
Principal Accountabilities:
With minimal supervision and moderate decision-making, you will:
- Provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of mechanical equipment and systems.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical issues and review/approve reports, drawings, specifications, and purchasing documents.
- Identify and recommend the implementation of resources for economic running of units.
- Track metrics to identify improvement opportunities, trends, and ensure needs are met.
- Direct processes and procedures to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.
- Develop and refine an Asset Maintenance Plan, including preventive maintenance tasks and utilization of predictive methodologies.
- Provide technical support to production, maintenance management, and technical personnel.
- Apply value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions.
- Contribute to a Risk Management Plan anticipating reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks.
Qualifications You Bring to the Table:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field with 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing plant.
- Demonstrable leadership skills and experience in Loss Accounting, LEAN management, and reliability practices.
- Knowledge of maintenance workflow, pressure systems, packaging systems, filtration & separation technologies, and rotating equipment.
- Experience in leading NDT techniques.
- Limited travel required.
