JOB TITLE:Mechanical Procurement Engineer
DEPARTMENT: Engineering - Wolf Creek

LOCATION: Burlington, KS
PAY RANGE: Engineer I - $61,900 - $77,400
Engineer II - $75,600 - $94,500
Staff Engineer - $84,500 - $105,600
Sr Engineer - $85,500 - $114,000
Lead Engineer - $89,900 - $119,900
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• A Procurement Engineer is expected to support day-to-day part needs, and Refueling Outage long term parts needs, to ensure that equipment installed in the plant comply with plant design requirements. This will include the need to generate procurement requirements, replacement item equivalency evaluations and possibly larger scope change evaluations, generation of safety classification analysis (SCA) documents, commercial grade dedication (CGD) documents, along with revising / writing new design and or procurement specifications. Also, job duties include the review of work done by other engineers.
• For the Mechanical Engineer position within Procurement Engineering, an understanding of ASME Code requirements is also expected. If not already familiar with ASME Code, training will be provided to meet this need. The focus of this position will be dealing with mechanical equipment, such as pumps and valves.
Procurement Engineers are expected to have a general understanding of all aspects of the Nuclear Plant to ensure design requirements of the plant are maintained. It is a continuous learning opportunity
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• A Bachelors Degree in Engineering is required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering. Past experience in Engineering job functions is preferred, but not mandatory, as this is a learn on the job position.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Successful completion of the Engineering Fundamentals examination is preferred.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
• Must be detail oriented and have proficiency in learning use of new computer programs / databases, and proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets.
• Must possess the ability to work and communicate effectively with other company personnel from various job backgrounds, ranging from accounting personnel, purchasing agents, other engineers, maintenance personnel, and operations personnel.
Typical Schedule Work Hours and Working Conditions:
• Monday thru Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm (or 6:30 am to 5:00 pm)
• Monday and Thursday can work from home or on site. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, expected to work on site.
• A majority of work is done in office. Some plant walkdowns will be necessary, along with possible maintenance shop work oversite / investigation.

This position requires good oral and written communication skills.
This position requires a satisfactory work record including good attendance.
