Summary:

This position supports both engineering and operations with assembly of precision electromechanical products for the Marine industry. You will play a crucial role in a fast paced development launch team.


Main responsibilities:

  • Assemble safety critical electromechanical prototype and production products.
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of issues that arise from assembly and test process.
  • Conduct detailed tear downs and inspections of assemblies, including documenting processes and results.
  • Collaborate with engineering team to provide design for manufacturing feedback for improvements to product cost, quality, reliability, and serviceability.
  • Support test team as needed with troubleshooting and root cause analysis on tested units and test equipment.
  • Participate in the design review meetings to provide valuable insight including design, assembly, validation, documentation and on-going support.
  • Maintain effective communication to address any design or manufacturing challenges promptly.
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively, demonstrating strong organizational skills to track and assemble multiple configurations of products.
  • Maintain detailed records for product traceability of assembly processes, configurations, and any proposed changes for future reference.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while working in a dedicated assembly area within our facility.
  • Collaborate with the facilities team to ensure a clean and organized workspace conducive to precision assembly work.
  • Assist in applications support and troubleshooting as required.
  • Complete additional job duties and assignments up to 15% of the time.
Requirements:

Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in machine repair, maintenance, or assembly in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Canadian Red Seal Millwright, University, or Institute qualifications in Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering would be considered an asset
  • Familiar with mechanical assemblies such as hydraulic gear pumps, axial piston pumps, cylinders, valves, motors, linear actuators, compressors, and internal combustion engines.
  • Familiar with rotating equipment including motors, bearings, shafts, and precision balancing
  • Familiar with electronic instrumentation/sensors & test equipment.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations (UL, CSA, CE and other regulatory requirements).
