If you're a dynamic, detail-oriented professional with a flair for numbers and a passion for the construction industry, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a Permanent Mechanical Estimator to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment and has a keen eye for detail. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be a vital part of our team, playing a key role in ensuring our projects are completed on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Estimator, your main responsibilities will include:
1. Analyzing contractor bids, ensuring all costs and specifications are included and accurate.
2. Creating comprehensive estimates and cost plans for a variety of mechanical construction projects.
3. Conducting detailed risk assessments to ensure potential project problems are foreseen and the cost is forecasted accurately.
4. Liaising with engineers, architects, and other construction professionals to ensure all estimates are comprehensive and include all necessary job components.
5. Keeping up-to-date with the local rates in estimates, ensuring our bids are competitive and accurate.
6. Using your industry knowledge to influence design decisions to achieve the best value for money.
7. Providing support to the project management team throughout the lifecycle of the project, from initial estimate to final account.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry.
2. A strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes.
3. Proven experience in analyzing contractor bids and creating accurate estimates and cost plans.
4. An in-depth knowledge of local rates in estimates.
5. Excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset.
6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of professionals.
7. The ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
8. Proficiency in relevant software, such as estimating software and MS Office.
