Job Description
Co-Op are cycled, full time opportunities for engineering students who are currently enrolled in a four-year college/university.
Job Summary/Objective:
The mechanical engineer will take a project from the conceptual stage through completion, factoring in budgetary and operational considerations. Performs initial and ongoing design reviews. Identifies process deficiencies and develops solutions to improve. Works with Sales and Operations to
develop new prototypes; heavily involved in the quoting process of potential orders/inquiries.
Essential Job Functions:

- Provide cost and lead time estimates as well as technical information for customers in the form of quotes and project proposals.
- Translate the design information into manufacturing information in the form of routings via ERP, models and drawings via SolidWorks, and various niche software applications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
- Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications, and necessity of modification.
- Provide manufacturing support, from small changes to part design to various projects like leading the design of automated process equipment.
- Technical interface with maintenance and employees.

- Support the Engineering Department's efforts to continuously improve processes.

Required Education and Experience:
- Ability to work 40-hour work weeks during rotation
- Willingness and ability to commit to a minimum of 3 rotations
- Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum GPA 2.5
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks, 2D & 3D Design.
- SAP experience is preferred.
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Handling proposals; performing quotes and pricing.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Must have excellent verbal and written skills along with exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
