Mechanical Engineer - Entry Level

Overview
i3 is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the Army CCDC Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) in the research, development, and testing of aviation and ground system prototypes. This position is located in Huntsville, AL at Redstone Arsenal.
Responsibilities

• Carries out detailed mechanical design work including 3D modelling and initial FEA analysis simulations.
• Responsible for mechanical part selection and creating initial BOM, cost model and assembly drawings.
• Creates detailed drawings of parts for manufacturing.
• Ensures design files and information are kept up to date and are under version control in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Creates technical reports and documentation for design reviews and customer reviews.
• Supports design, fabrication, manufacturing and testing efforts.

Qualifications
Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Experience with mechanical design and drafting using SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of drafting principles and experience with Technical Data Package (TDP) level 2+ drawing packages.
• Thorough understanding of mechanical design.
• 2 - 4 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience preferred.
• Strong self-initiative.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Clearance:

• Active secret clearance preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
