JOB SUMMARY
Be part of the Nabors Early Career Development Program(ECD) to fast track your career! This rotational program will provide access to advance your knowledge and skills in high-profile roles within the ACE (Actively Changing Energy) program. You will start as a full-time Mechanical Engineer I. The ECD program offers rotational opportunities during initial 12-18 months of employment, to help your knowledge and Career Development. The Mechanical Engineer works with various departments including, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Product Design, and Software Engineering to develop the skillset required to successfully contribute to automation and software technologies and equipment. The Mechanical Engineer designs and develops new products using sound engineering principles. He/she proposes modifications and solutions to problems with existing products. The Mechanical Engineer performs various engineering calculations including stress analysis. He/she creates bills of material and assembly instructions. Qualifications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs development engineering, for both new and existing products.
  • Maintains product safety in all designs.
  • Performs design prototyping, including field implementation and testing.
  • Provides technical support to other departments and field service personnel.
  • Follows required regulatory codes.
  • Performs engineering calculations as required.
  • Creates Bills of Materials.
  • Checks and releases drawings produced by designers and drafters.
  • Prepares assembly instructions.
  • Performs tolerance stack-up verification.
  • Diagnoses problems with mechanical designs and generates solutions.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Mathematical skills per engineering degree requirements

LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to read, comprehend and write in English.
  • Ability to effectively present technical information, to colleagues, customers and vendors.

REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Spreadsheet and word processor software
  • SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation
  • Ability to work with manufacturing/inventory software.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Valid driver license

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Valid passport
  • Domestic and international travel may be required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Engineering expertise - machine design, strength of materials, metallurgy, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid power.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, MathCAD and ANSYS.
  • Knowledge of drilling engineering principles, drilling practices, and drilling rigs.
  • Knowledge of drafting principles.
  • Design creativity
  • Knowledge of manufacturing software
  • Knowledge of oilfield regulatory requirements

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
• Provide technical support to other departments
• Provide engineering analysis, design, plan, review and inspection on projects
• Ensure that designs meet required regulatory codes
• Conduct preliminary engineering studies
• Perform design prototyping, including field implementation & testing
• Prepares and reviews electrical product documentation
• Correct Visual Part Maintenance & BOM issues
