GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:
The Designer I, Mechanical is responsible for developing designs, detailed drawings, and related specifications of equipment under the direction of a designer or engineer.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Functional & Technical Skills
- Create, modify, and check detailed documentation of parts, assemblies, and specifications.
- Prepares, checks, and processes Engineering changes to incorporate updated design to new or existing machines.
- Assist engineers and designers with concepts, specifications, and related data and drawings.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain effective communication between departments and teams to support successful project releases.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate Degree in Design/Drafting
Experience: 0+ years experience with CAD modeling and detail drafting.
Licenses/Certifications: Obtain and maintain railroad safety training and credentials
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of business software including MS Office suite.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge in Autodesk and ERP software
