The Lower Tier Future Interceptor (LTFI) is the next terminal air defense hit-to-kill program for Missiles and Fire Control. The LTFI program will be developing and maturing technology during 2024-2025, preparing the required artifacts for a formal RFP response expected between November 2024 and March 2025, and readying the design and approach for an accelerated EMD phase beginning in 2026. The program also includes a seeker characterization test flight program in 2025.
The Missile/Launcher IPT Lead is responsible for leading design and analysis activity associated with LTFI missile and canister, launcher integration and associated analyses. The analysis effort will include thermal, stress, modal, etc. It is expected that the IPT will coordinate closely with Production Operations and fully support Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) to identify opportunities for cost savings. This project has an aggressive schedule, so the candidate needs to have direct experience with all phases of the product development process, especially conceptual design through DVT/qual. Candidate is expected to be a player/coach with hands-on responsibilities as well as leadership responsibilities. Willingness to design with a DX mindset is expected, including learning Model Based Design.

Ability to work remotely
Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Colorado Pay Statement
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $100,400 - $192,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
