SAF-T-FLO manufacturers injection quills for the municipal water treatment industry. This is not your standard production line assembly position. As a Mechanical Assembler you will be responsible for assembling individual parts into subassemblies and then into the final product. After final assembly, the product is prepared to be safely shipped. Our products have many material and size variations. You will be working with a variety of materials; PVC, CPVC, Stainless Steel, Titanium and Nickel Alloy. Being mechanically inclined is a plus. This is a hands-on role that requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment.
Job Duties:
- Pull individual parts that will be needed to build the job.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Read and understand measuring tools
- Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
- Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources if necessary.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Properly cut, clean and prepare plastic materials for solvent welding.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements
- Mechanically inclined
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for most of the shift
Other Qualifications
- Knowledge of PVC pipe and fittings is a plus (solvent weld)
- Must be able to read a tape measure (believe it or not, some can't)
- Ability to follow instructions
- Good communication skills
- Work effectively without direct supervision
