Job description

Are you interested in taking charge of a skilled team of automotive and diesel mechanics who are licensed and trained? Your hands-on approach will be crucial in ensuring the smooth maintenance and repair of hydraulic, electrical, heating, cooling, and exhaust systems, as well as conducting state vehicle inspections. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing various tasks related to the maintenance and repair of construction equipment and hand tools. This includes supervising mechanics, assigning work orders, reviewing charges, and reporting any accidents or damage. In addition, you will also supervise state vehicle inspections and ensure the accuracy of quality assurance results. You will assist mechanics in diagnosing and repairing complex equipment problems, ensure the availability of specialized tools and equipment, and oversee the repair of motorized hand equipment. You will continuously look for and identify training needs, as well as maintain a clean and safe garage repair facility.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Shifts vary seasonally.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Four years of journey level mechanical experience in the diagnosis and repair of automobiles, heavy trucks, or construction equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Necessary Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a Pennsylvania Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with Tank Vehicle (N) Endorsement.
  • This position requires possession of an active Class 4 or 7 Pennsylvania Inspection Mechanic Certification.
  • This position requires one year of experience or training in the repair or maintenance of diesel engines.
