Mechanic - Mig/Tig

Mechanic (MIG/TIG) - Akron, Ohio - JOB 23-01031
Hourly Rate: $21.00/HR
Akron Area Truck assembly plant operation is seeking a Mechanic. The Mechanic's key duties are to perform custom build/repair fit-up and welding assignments. Perform Electrical and Air Systems repairs and diagnostics.
Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficient in steel and aluminum MIG and TIG welding.
• Demonstrated mechanical skills.
• Good knowledge of tank electric and hydraulics.
• Able to read and interpret drawings, prints and tape measure.
• Ability to accurately use and read micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring instruments.
• Demonstrated full range of tank knowledge and expertise.
• Ability to fit into and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work at heights of up to 15 feet.
• Ability to wear a tight face-fitting respirator.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Responsibilities:

• Operate tools and equipment and use safe work habits.
• Perform custom build/repair fit-up and welding assignments.
• Perform Electrical and Air Systems repairs and diagnostics.
• Review and interpret specification documentation and information related to assignments to assure product is repaired to customer specifications.
• Repair or replace material, drill holes in frame or body, install reflective tape, replace or repair suspension(s), brake replacement or adjustment.

Candidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
