Mechanic (Auto/Diesel)

Job description
Monday to Friday

6am to 3pm or 9am to 6pm

Working with all types of vehicles and heavy equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1) Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles.

2) Diagnose and repair vehicles.

3) Order necessary parts as needed.

4) Maintain a clean and orderly Fleet Shop.

5) Complete work labor and task information.

Minimum Qualifications

· High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

· 2 years related experience

· Must own basic hand and air tools

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

· 6 months to 1 year advanced training in automotive mechanics

· 2-4 years experience in automotive shop repair and diagnosis

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· General knowledge of automotive repair and diagnostics

· General knowledge of Fleet software processes

· Skill in utilizing Shop Key software

· Skill in performing preventative maintenance on vehicles

Licenses and Certifications

· Must obtain 1 ASE Certification within one year of hire

· Valid Class A Commercial Texas driver's license or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
