Tufts Medicine Lowell General Hospital is seeking an experienced Mechanic and Pipefitter and we would love to talk with you about joining our team.
Hours: 40 hours weekly. Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm, including rotating weekends, and on-call required. On call occasional hours are from 12-6am
Location: Main Campus and Saints Campus.
Job Summary
The Mechanic and Pipefitter plans and performs a wide variety of installation and repair duties involving building and/or equipment throughout the hospital area, requires some knowledge of various trades. Must maintain current knowledge in area of pipefitting and sprinkler fitting.
Job Description:
Work from written and verbal instruction using prints, specifications, sketches, charts and formulas to perform duties.
Duties involve repair, replacement and installation of identified components of hospital infrastructure.
Use welding equipment, plumbing equipment, tools, hand and bench grinders, power drills, and numerous hand and power tools necessary to the performance of duties.
Maintain necessary records. Move materials and supplies as necessary in the performance of duties or as directed. Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to supervisor. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition. Follow furnished safety rules and regulations.
Perform other duties as required or as directed by Supervisor / Director.
Submit assigned Preventative Maintenance Planned Work Orders within assigned timeframe.
Respond to Daily Demand Work Orders produced by Service Response System.
