Ellsworth Foods Inc. is a leading provider of high-quality meat products, serving customers nationwide. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Meat Cutter to join our team at our state-of-the-art facility in Tifton. As a Meat Cutter, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and freshness.
In this role, you will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing various types of meat, including beef, pork, and poultry. You will work closely with our Production team to follow product specifications and guidelines, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all cutting processes. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and sanitation protocols.
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of different cuts of meat and the ability to operate various cutting equipment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Meat Cutter in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities- Cut, trim, and portion various types of meat according to product specifications and customer orders
- Operate and maintain cutting equipment, such as knives, saws, grinders, and slicers, ensuring safety and efficiency
- Inspect meats for quality and freshness, identifying any signs of spoilage or contamination
- Maintain accurate records of cutting and portioning activities, including waste and yield calculations
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of meat products
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production flow and timely completion of customer orders
- Assist in inventory management, including rotating stock and monitoring supplies
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Meat Cutter in a production or retail environment
- Strong knowledge of different cuts of meat and their preparation methods
- Ability to operate and maintain cutting equipment, including knives, saws, and grinders
- Good physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy and sharp objects
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures in a food production environment
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented setting
- Flexibility to work various shifts, and an occasional Saturday
