Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general supervision of the Director and Assistant Director, responsible for managing the overall administration of satellite operations. The Meals on Wheels Manager, Home Delivered Meals is also responsible for the coordination of services with designated Case Management agencies. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
  • Supervise homebound meal operations at satellite location under the direction of the Director and Assistant Director
  • Maintain and track employee attendance records; approve daily timecards
  • Coordinate route coverage with the Assistant Director
  • Develop and maintain home-delivered meals route sheets; monitor and adjust routes to ensure the delivery of meals according to program guidelines
  • Ensure accurate and timely unit entry of delivered meals into the funding source database
  • Prepare and submit accurate unit chart for invoicing to the Director
  • Report daily delivery information and coordination of client services with case management staff
  • Maintain client files with updated documentation of all client contact, case coordination, service changes, and case management communication regarding client status or concerns
  • Prepare contribution letters, count and record contribution receipts with assigned staff
  • Collaborate with program directors on program planning, development, and improvement
  • Responsible for predicting and anticipating the number of needed meals and placing appropriate corresponding orders
  • Assist in the critical planning process to ensure efficient meal delivery to clients i.e. emergency circumstances, holidays, etc.
  • Oversee the completion of necessary compliance standards as designated by DFTA and CMOW i.e. monthly test meals, incident logs, complaint logs, client surveys, etc.
  • Responsible for coordinating with field drivers and delivery persons to problem-solve issues or emergencies as needed
  • Ensure staff are following necessary RiseBoro program protocols and policies; consult with the Director and Assistant Director on any employee issues of concern or that may require disciplinary action
  • Provide coverage as needed i.e. driver, delivery person, etc.
  • Assist in inventory control and purchasing of supplies
  • Prepare documentation needed for clients i.e. new client packets, menus, etc.
  • Other duties as required by the Program Director and the organization
COMPETENCIES
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and show genuine concern for the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the elderly population
  • Basis computer skills required, with the ability to learn database maintenance
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree and at least one (1) year of Meals on Wheels or social service experience
  • Associate degree and at least two (2) years of Meals on Wheels experience or social service experience
