Job description

Magnolia Assisted Living is an Assisted Living Company with 11 homes across Central and Downeast Maine. We strive for a professional, supportive, and rewarding environment for our employees where our goal is to provide compassionate patient centered care in an assisted living/residential care environment with a team-centered approach.

We are currently seeking a Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator to work out of one of our communities in Central or DownEast Maine.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage processing and tracking of all Medicare/Medicaid case-mix documents in order to assure appropriate reimbursement for services provided at facility.
  • Conduct MDS reviews to assure achievement of maximum allowable RUG categories.
  • Ensure validation of New Residents by submitting the MDS to Muskie School
  • Submit Section 2 weighted score reports to Muskie School
  • Recertify each MDS every 6 months
  • Track resident cost of care responsibility
  • Work with team to complete new assessments every 180 days
  • Billing from monthly MaineCare reimbursement invoices
  • Enter rent collection per METPID
  • Other duties as assigned by the Regional Director.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience working in Assisted Living environments preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in State and Federal regulations.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, PCC or related software.
  • Willing to occasionally travel between communities.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • LPN’s encouraged to apply.
  • MDS training through the State of Maine.
  • A minimum one year experience working as a MDS Coordinator.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at time.
