Job Duties
Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center; named for two Medal of Honor recipients - Colonel Van Barfoot and Colonel Carl Sitter - provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginia's Veterans. This single-level facility features 200 single-occupancy rooms across four nursing units.
Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is recruiting for a MDS Nurse. The MDS Nurse is responsible for the coordination of the RAI process and input of the Minimum Data Set and care plans for residents. Sets reference dates in compliance with regulations for the MDS assessments. Provides guidance, education and direction to staff / Interdisciplinary team in the completion of the MDS ensuring organized nursing services for the residents assigned to the facility.
Job duties include but are not limited to: Ensures completion of the MDS in accordance with federal/Medicare regulations/ requirements assuring the completion of the Nursing Section of the MDS; ensure completion of the CAAs and development of the comprehensive care plan; completes signing of all necessary paperwork and attend/coordinate IDT meetings in a timely manner; serves as a resource person to all disciplines regarding the RAI process; communicates changes in policy and procedure as needed.
This is a part-time, wage position with no benefits. Hours may not exceed 1500 in a year between May 1st - April 30th.

Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed as a Practical Nurse in Virginia.
- MDS Certification or experience.
- Point Click Care.
- Experience completing resident assessment and knowledge of the RAI process and RUG system.
- Nursing experience in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting
