Primary Function:
Perform a wide variety of technical/laboratory functions in several different areas with some supervision.
Tools and Equipment: 
Uses normal tools as found in the normal investment casting, sand casting and laboratory operations.  Uses personal safety equipment, and simple instrumentation and a personal computer.
Materials:
Uses personal safety equipment, electronic instrumentation and personal computer.
Direction of Others:
None

Working Procedure:
The following are the usual major job duties, but this job description does not preclude the performance of other duties as assigned by the supervisor:
Make calculations and accurately record data and observations, collect and analyze data manually as well as with a computer.
Notify supervisor or responsible engineer of any problems or changes to work plan.
Expedite work to meet schedules.
Troubleshoot machines as required under Technician II or Engineering Supervision.
Some testing and/or certification may be required at this level.
Must have ability to follow complex work instructions.
Must be proactive and able to work independently without substantial supervision.
Must follow all safety requirements of job as outlined on the job safety card
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Complete all paperwork associated with the job.  Correctly maintain all forms and instruction sheets
Maintain a clean and orderly working environment
Inform your supervisor about problems that occur
May be required to handle hazardous waste by collecting and transferring the waste into proper containers at satellite storage areas or storage areas and assuring that the containers are properly inspected, labeled, and closed as required.  Must follow correct instruction for handling hazardous waste and report any deviations to supervisor immediately.  Must attend yearly instruction in hazardous waste handling and review of current procedures if job duties could affect non-compliance.
Special Skills and/or Experience:
 Vision requirement of 20/25 near correctable.  
 Requires sufficient strength and physical dexterity to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. 
 Must be capable on a PC system to work with MSWord and perform data analysis in MS Excel.  
 Able to use computer software for operating test machines and recording data.  
 Able to use or learn how to use micrometer/vernier caliper.  
 Ability to work independently, be detail-oriented and organized.  
 Incumbents must have a high school diploma, good communication skills, and the ability to collect and present data manually.  
 Must be able to work in a team environment.
Minimum Education Requirements:
 A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.
